After more than six (6) months of waiting, Mattel’s Hot Wheels 2026 F1 concept car finally showed up on our doorsteps in the last week of August. But the long wait and the final product were a big letdown.

The colors, particularly the yellow-green, look too washed out compared with the 3D rendering photos they released during the pre-order period in early February 2026.

The real 2026 F1 cars are radically different from previous 2020s-era cars, with narrower bodies, shorter wheelbases, redesigned spoilers, and most importantly, a 50/50 hybrid (electric/gas) engine configuration.

Anyway, I am still waiting for two (2) more pre-orders (offered last December 2025) of Mattel Hot Wheels 2025 F1 cars: the 2025 Formula 1 Team Factory-Sealed Set (2 cars of every team during the 2025 F1 season) and the 2025 Formula 1 Podium Set (the top three (3) winners of the 2025 F1 season displayed on a tiered podium with parc fermé signs for each place and a pit board by the champ (Lando Norris).

Hopefully, Mattel will do a better job with the color and detailing.
